Overview. The original tube-and-fin condenser was designed for R-12 and struggles to condense R-134a. A parallel-flow condenser, used on nearly all modern cars, has the internal structure R-134a needs. Upgrading the condenser is the single biggest step toward R-12-like cooling on R-134a.

Product FAQs

Do I need this to run R-134a?

We recommend it. The stock condenser can't condense R-134a well, so cooling suffers without it.

Does it fit my 1977–1985 W123?

It fits them all. But check the compatibility guide (https://klimakit.com/compatibility/) or contact us if you have questions.

Can I add an extra fan?

Yes. Our Maradyne Champion aux fan mounts directly to this condenser.

Does it work with my original compressor?

Yes. It works with the original or a Sanden conversion.

Is it flushable?

No, parallel-flow condensers are not flushable. Don't fret though - we can sell a replacement core to you at a discounted price if needed.
