Upgrade your compressor now and say goodbye to the loud, leaky, short-lived R4. Our mounting & conversion kit provides you with all of the parts you need to install a durable, world-famous Sanden SD Series compressor in your car. No special tools required. No permanent modification of the vehicle. Use with either R-12 & R-134a refrigerant. Offered with or without compressor, and with ready to install hoses or unfinished fittings and hose. Kit Contents:

  • Precision steel mounting brackets with yellow zinc protective finish
  • Complete illustrated instructions (PDF File)
  • DIN/ISO metric hardware set with hardened fasteners
  • All required hose & line components to complete the conversion
  • Complete HNBR o-ring set for entire a/c system
  • OEM Compatible Delco male electrical connector and terminals included

Compressor Compatibility:

  • Kit uses a Sanden SD7H15 Model 4272 (7-cylinder). Available as an optional purchase. 

 

Hose & Line:

  • Kit includes new high-pressure hose running from compressor head to condenser input, and new low-pressure hose from compressor to evaporator. Original hoses/lines connecting to compressor (2 pieces) will be removed and replaced. Compressor fittings are o-ring style; evaporator and condenser connection fittings are original flare style (o-ring available upon request).
  • Original liquid line (receiver drier to thermal expansion valve) will be reused.
  • Make sure all remaining original lines are in good condition before installing kit.
  • Available only with unfinished hose and fittings (installer must crimp fittings with appropriate tool).
  • We use only Goodyear Galaxy or Parker Futura full barrier hose for durability and multi-refrigerant compatibility. 

 

Additional information:

  • Use with either R-12 or R-134a. If using R-12, be sure to thoroughly drain out PAG oil contained in new compressor and replace with mineral oil. 
  • Hoses include R-134a-style charge ports. 
  • No permanent modifications to vehicle.
  • Flush remaining system components thoroughly before installing.
  • Use with a parallel-flow condenser for best results with R-134a.
  • For best results, change receiver drier, TXV, and pressure switch.
