Overview. Leaky vacuum actuators stop the W201’s HVAC flaps from operating. This kit renews every actuator in the late W201 climate system in one kit.
Fitment
- Late W201 190 / 190E / 190D
- For early W201, contact us for a custom kit

Where to find them
- Recirculating air flap actuator: behind and to the right-top of the instrument panel
- Legroom air flap actuator: behind the radio, in front of the main air flap actuator
- Main air flap actuator: behind the radio, closest to the firewall
- Air mix flap actuator: center console in front of the heater core, right-hand side
Installation
See the video instructions.
Rebuild tips
- Old actuator plastic can be brittle: open housings with 4 thin plastic strips (an old credit card works)
- Clean dust and debris from the housing; don’t use lubricants except dimethicone
- Stretch the diaphragm rim by hand just before closing the housing
- Test with a hand vacuum pump (e.g. Mityvac)
Good to know
- Lead time: ships from stock
- Individual diaphragms and cartridges are also sold separately
